Hi! My name is Nick and I am a Nurse Practitioner. This is a blog about my journey applying to become a Medical Provider with the US Department of State Foreign Service. Since I started the application process a year ago, I realized there isn’t very much info out there for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, or Physicians Assistants interested in applying for a medical position with State, and I thought this would be a helpful way to articulate the process, provide information, and answer questions. The process is pretty similar for all three disciplines. I currently am in some of the final stages of the hiring process, which I will discuss in another post, but ultimately, I would like to transition this blog into one that highlights my time and life in the US Foreign Service.
